My Plans for 2026 and Why, in the Age of AI, I'm Focusing Solely on Cybersecurity

We live in the era of artificial intelligence. Every day, new tools appear that can write code, generate texts, create graphics, and even perform simple tests.

It might seem that IT specialists can relax—AI can handle much of the work for us. But there is one area where the human role cannot be fully replaced, and that is cybersecurity. Here's why I am focusing my efforts here.

1. AI Makes Life Easier, But Doesn't Eliminate Risks

Yes, AI can automate testing, log analysis, or even vulnerability checks. But at the same time, new threats arise:

Automated Attacks

Automated attacks on APIs using AI tools

AI Phishing

Highly accurate phishing campaigns generated by AI

Protection Bypass

Bypassing protections using AI tools

Every system requires human oversight because attackers are using the same technologies.

2. Security Is Always Strategy, Not Just Code

AI can write scripts, but understanding business logic, assessing risks, and building a defense strategy is still something only humans can do. True cybersecurity is not a set of rules—it's the attacker's mindset, system analysis, and anticipating adversary actions.

3. Demand for Experts Is Only Growing

Companies are adopting AI, cloud services, and APIs, but this also expands the attack surface. Specialists capable of assessing threats and protecting data are becoming increasingly rare. AI is a tool, not a replacement.

4. Perspective: Working with AI in Cybersecurity

My goal is to use AI where it helps, not where it replaces humans:

AI as a Tool

  • Speed up analysis — Speeding up log and incident analysis
  • Pattern detection — Identifying suspicious patterns
  • Automation — Automating routine checks

But humans make the decisions and set priorities, because the security of companies and data depends on it.

Conclusion

In the age of AI, I choose cybersecurity because it is a field where human thinking remains indispensable. AI is a tool, but without an expert, it cannot protect systems.

I've been involved in cybersecurity since 2021. I grew a Telegram channel to nearly 5,500 subscribers, launched a private club with a partner, and together with another instructor, we started cybersecurity courses and already graduated the first cohort.

I am dedicating 2026 entirely to cybersecurity. I will continue to build my expertise in this area. Over the next 2–3 years, I want to become an even more advanced specialist because I have specific plans for this field.

Does this mean I will stop teaching automation testing and programming? No, it doesn't. I will continue helping students, as QA Automation is still very popular and essential for manual testers. But gradually, over the next few years, I want to shift my focus to cybersecurity and write more on this topic.

Happy holidays!
